I've been in and out of Europe lately. I've scoured most of the inland and the inmost recesses of European treasures and devoured on most of its pleasured delights. I'd say my life revolves around my travelling sprees and researches.
I have gained a lot of insights about Italy. More than just the frolic of an
Italian holiday and the curl and cream of its sumptious pasta, I am enticed with the Italian charm. I'm not talking about the women, although I think they are Europe's finest when it comes to
fashion and beauty.
I've been watching mafia movies and I'd say Al Pacino is the best character there is. The mafia blab has always stirred a universal gossip about Sicily and the so-called Family. But having to actually deal with the Italian crowd, you may rid off the mafia impression and rather think of the Al Pacino charm and character.
Italians are fun to be with. They are not too stern but rather tolerant, openminded and mostly a curious bunch of people. They can be self-deprecating at times. They don't take themselves seriously so it's easy laugh out loud with them.
They are very polite and amiable. When older people enters the room, they stand and takes off the hat when pushing their way in to the building. Although they are good laughing buddies, they are not slack when it comes to manners such as yawning or removing the shoes in public places. They are very generous, always thoughtful to kids, bringing them gifts.
Italians also have their pet peeves. They rebuff arrogance, rudeneness and invasiveness. Well, I have a sunny disposition myself, very relaxed and sociable. That's why me and my Italian buddies are getting along just fine. Oh that reminds me, I'm just about to send them a thank you card for one hell of a night I had!
