Art Exhibits at the Palazzo del Principe

If you were doing a group stop over at Genoa, invite your friends to see Palazzo del Principe, where a vast array decorations in marble, stucco and frescoes, and the Battle of Lepanto tapestry could be seen at Galleria di Ponente. It was commissioned to be built by Andrea Doria during the 16th century by a host of famous Italian artists like Sebastiano del Piombo, Giovan Battista Gaulli and Perin del Vaga.

To get there you need to buy tickets from the tabacchieri or kiosks, as most Italians do. If you come from the east, take the Brignole bus numbers 18, 19 and 20. If you come from the west, your bus should stop at Stazione Marittima. You can park at the Old Port Area or the station itself.

After visiting the nearby sites like the Piazza della Mercanzia, the Palazzo San Giorgio, and the Palazzo Reale you can stay at the Hotel del Principe.
